Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System

Primary Care

About the Program

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) offers an extensive range of primary care services with emphasis on health care prevention. Primary Care services are offered in Little Rock and North Little Rock at the John L. McClellan Memorial VA Medical Center and the Eugene J. Towbin Health Care Center respectively. The CAVHS also offers primary care services at four community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) located throughout the state of Arkansas.

Patients who enroll with Primary Care will be assigned a primary care provider. Your provider will manage your VA health care services as part of a specific Primary Care Team, based either at one of our Medical Centers campuses or one of our CBOCs.

Services provided at the primary care clinics include annual physicals, preventive health care and screening, patient education, routine lab and x-rays, immunizations and medication review.

To enroll in Primary Care, please call Telephone Care at (501) 257-5656 or toll free at 1-800-224-8387.
